Kubik — Privacy Policy

Kubik is a sliding-tile puzzle game, available as a website and as an Android and iOS app. This policy describes exactly what the game stores and sends. It is short because the game collects very little.

No account, ever

Kubik has no sign-up. It never asks for your email address, phone number or password, and there is nothing to log in to.

What is stored on your device only

• Your chosen nickname, so you don't retype it.
• Your settings: language, tile look, colour-blind mode, multi-move, sound and music.
• Your personal best times per difficulty.

This never leaves your device, and clearing the app's data or the site's browser storage erases it.

What is sent to our server

The game uses Google Firebase (Firestore and Anonymous Authentication). When you play online, these are stored:

• An anonymous player id issued by Firebase. It identifies your device to the game, and is not linked to a Google account, an email address or your real identity.
• The nickname you type, together with your solve time and move count, when a score is posted to the public leaderboard, and while you are in a Duel or Triple Race room. Whatever you type here is publicly visible to other players, so please don't use your full name or anything private.
• Room contents while a match is running: the room code, the puzzle seed, and each player's progress and result.

Analytics

Kubik uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count basic, anonymous usage — for example that the app was opened, which language was chosen, and which game modes are played. These events are not tied to your nickname, and we do not use them to build a profile of you or to show advertising.

No ads, no selling of data

Kubik shows no advertising, contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone. The only third party involved is Google, as the provider of Firebase — see the Firebase privacy documentation.

Permissions the app asks for

• Camera — only when you tap "scan QR" to join a friend's room. The picture is decoded on your device and is never uploaded or saved. The game is fully playable without granting it.
• Vibration — for feedback when a tile moves.
• Internet — for the online modes and the leaderboard. Single player works offline.

Children

Kubik is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The game asks for nothing beyond a nickname of your choosing.

Deleting your data

To remove a leaderboard entry or a room, or to ask what is stored for your anonymous id, email elfifo4@gmail.com and we will do it by hand. Uninstalling the app or clearing site data removes everything held on your device immediately.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
